It pained me to open my eyes and see the light and hear noise. Eventually, under doctor recommendations, I tried numerous medications including anti-seizure medication and anti-depressants. I also took Novocain shots in my back weekly and even tried painful Botox infections in the back of my head and neck.
I eventually saw a nutritionist where I took an allergy blood test to detect secondary allergies. It turned out that I had 33 different allergies. My nutritionist recommended that I eliminate all 33 allergens cold turkey and slowly introduce them again to see which ones caused my migraines after the two-month period. Personally, the end result was despicable. I was starving!
I was very into fitness but my family, including myself, wasn’t up to date on the dangers of MSG, GMOs, processed foods, and preservatives. (Monosodium glutamate is a flavor enhancer commonly added to Chinese food, canned vegetables, soups and processed meats. The FDA has received many anecdotal reports of adverse reactions to food containing MSG. These reactions, known as MSG symptom complex, include headaches, flushing, sweating, facial pressure or tightness, numbness, tingling or burning in the face, neck and other areas, heart palpitations, chest pain, nausea, weakness, and more. GMO, or genetically modified organism, is a plant, animal, microorganism or other organism whose genetic makeup has been modified using recombinant DNA methods (also known as gene splicing), gene modification or transgenic technology. This relatively new science creates unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods. Most developed nations do not consider GMOs to be safe and have significant restrictions or outright bans on the production and sale of GMOs. The U.S. and Canadian governments, though, have approved GMOs based on studies conducted by the same corporations that created and profit from their sale.) Every time I ate, I would have a severe migraine. There was a point when I would hold out on eating as long as possible.
I am now 25 years old and have gradually worked myself up to becoming an organic vegan. It was undeniably a hard transition for me. In the beginning 90% of foods I ate tasted like cardboard. However, now I know what foods I love. For me, that was the biggest part to recovery. I also found that stress and lack of REM sleep played a role in my migraines. I do as much homeopathic healing to reduce them including hot showers, soaking in Epson salt, essential oils such as lavender and peppermint, yoga, meditation, and setting up my room to promote sleep. Nonetheless, I still experience migraines from time to time, but not nearly comparable to the altitude as I did 9 years ago. When I do, I find Stopain Migraine Topical Relieving Gel immensely helpful. It is very similar to Biofreeze and Icy Hot. It creates a very cold sensation on your skin and very slight but tolerable burning.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this homeopathic gel as a part of a greater self-care plan. You want to focus on what triggers your migraines instead of masking the pain. Stopain has the ability to reduce your migraine and even mask it, but the problem does not just diminish. Heal yourself, body mind and soul.
